Gun_shot_victim was a long standing member for AUF (Australian Forces) before leaving for various reasons. At the time MW2 had just hit the market and he was on the search for a new clan. After signing up with FV and SYCO, he had some games as a trial member but nothing seemed to feel right for him when his son suggested he start his own clan!

On the 27th of December 2009, GsV mailed GraphicX of FV and asked if it was possible to start up a clan of his own. GraphicX mailed back information almost straight away and GsV was on his way to buying a domain and registering the site. The idea for the name came first from sharing the same initials as his son A.S.G which soon enough evolved into Australian Social Gamers and AsG was born.

With a little help from GraphicX to install the site, the boards where open on the 1st of January 2010. Within a day or so GsV was joined by D0u813V1510N (aka Dubs) who took charge of designing and administrating the site and the skeleton of AsG was built and ready to grow.

For the next several months AsG began to grow constantly with new members joining from the get go and the forums blossoming with new topics and conversations every day. By the third month the forums had grown large enough that GsV and Dubs had decided to appoint AsG’s first moderators,  xxFrillxx and G_SE7EN7 were appointed the positions and it was another sign of AsG prospering and growing.

Frill was also appointed vice captain under Dubs for the comp team that AsG was preparing to enter into its first tournament, X-Mod MW2 tournament at SIXAXIS. Even though the team didn’t fair too well in its first comp, they learnt a lot about their strengths and weaknesses and used that experience to improve for future competitions.

Time went by and people come and go, AsG has already been through a few periods of membership turnover but after each transition one thing remains certain, AsG is here for the long haul, continuing to accept and promote new members which will always see AsG prosper.
